Young’s Partnership with Plymouth Gin to Raise Money for the Ocean Conservation Trust

We are teaming up with our pals at Plymouth Gin, the botanical heroes promising a pledge of 50p from every Plymouth Gin and tonic or Hugo Spritz, sold in our pubs between April – May going to the Ocean Conservation Trust.

Their work on sustainability doesn’t just stop there, with a 100% recyclable bottle, removal of all single use plastic in their packaging and a glass weight reduction from 660g to 550g (which is the equivalent to 60 tonnes of carbon a year*based on 600k bottles) there’s a whole host of (sustainable) reasons to get ordering.

We are so happy to announce the amazing news that collectively you’ve helped us raise a staggering £40,000 for the Ocean Conservation Trust through the sales of Plymouth Gin in 2022 and 2023.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported such a great cause!

Where did the funds raised in 2022 go?

Valuable funds raised in 2022 went towards supporting the Sea Grass project in Falmouth. Including buoy placement in key areas to identify seagrass beds and supporting protection, monitoring and regeneration of sea grass. The hope is to increase biodiversity, water quality and enhanced carbon retention.

Where did it all Be-Gin?

Distilled at the Black Friars Distillery in Plymouth, with a history dating back to 1793, Plymouth Gin can rightly claim to be distilled in the oldest working distillery in the UK. The building is also reputed to have been the place where the Pilgrim Fathers gathered before they set off in the Mayflower for America in 1620.

Did you know?

Referenced Gin in the Savoy cocktail book, an iconic must-have bible for bartenders dating back to 1934, Plymouth Gin is linked with the evolution of some of the world’s most notable cocktails, including arguably the most famous of them all, the Martini.
